Pondering Pandemic Politics

In an attempt to gain some understanding of our current political situation it’s good to look back at where we have come from. So a few of my following posts will be looking back at some foundational principles while assessing their place in our current climate.

We The People

The first principle I’ll take a look at is the principle of government of the people, by the people and for the people. This one is huge on many levels. For one thing, it is a foundational principal that has been eroded almost irreparably due to divisive politics and special interests groups. Government has become of the special interest, by the special interest, for the special interest. We are no longer represented as people but are seen as gun rights nuts, the black vote, pro-life or pro-choice, union workers or small business, Democrat or Republican and on and on it goes. If your pro-life don’t even try to mix that with being a union worker because you won’t find representation with a mix like that. So we are not represented most of the time and have to swallow a very bitter pill come election time, if we even choose to participate.

Here is where the erosion has become the most detrimental. Since we don’t feel represented and the pill, at election time, becomes too hard to swallow, we just choose not to participate. The sinister plan of disenfranchising a massive majority of American citizens has been very effective. As long as we the people don’t participate it doesn’t really matter if a Republican or Democrat gets elected since the special interests groups pay them off and get what they want either way. This has been a very effective strategy during this pandemic. We have been cut off from people, discussion, socialization and the sharing of ideas. News media, Facebook, You Tube, Twitter become our only sources of info and ideas. Can you see the propaganda potential in such an information bottleneck? These organizations only have to start censoring information they don’t agree with and all of a sudden you have philosophy controlled ideas bombarding the citizenry. This works to desensitize us to the dangers of governmental overreach, ineffectiveness, waste, fraud and abuse. If such things are even reported on in the first place.

Immunity for Protests

Disturbing and telling political granted immunity for current protesters cast a strong stench upon the division of We the People. A stench that can only be described as swampy. Democrats and some Republicans have allowed the narrative that BLM protesters are somehow allowable and even encouraged while those who protest the lock down and division of hard working and often times conservative groups are considered heath risks, racist and even un-American. Such an environment raises concerns about conspiracies that are guiding the course of the pandemic, protests, riots and political movements which do not have the best interests of America at heart. Honestly there has to be a serious coordination of state and city leaders to have so totally abdicated their sworn oaths and responsibilities regarding their constituents. In my opinion quite a few of these leaders have been aiding and abetting criminal behavior, obstructing justice and quite possibly committed acts of treason. I am left wondering how these elected officials have escaped arrest and prosecution. The lack of law and justice is of Biblical proportion and threatens our very Republic.

Tyranny of the Majority

So here we come to the why. The Tyranny of the Majority is a threat the Founding Fathers new all to well would raise it’s ugly head in a democracy which is why our country was formed as a Republic not a Democracy. The Republic is exactly what is targeted and at stake. We are currently in a civil war and only one side is actually fighting. The side of the Republic is ignorant of what’s at stake, what their rights are, what liberties are about to be forfeited and, most importantly, what their responsibilities as We the People are in defeating Tyranny in all it’s forms. If We the People do not wake up, step up and speak up we will be left with only two options: Arm up or Shut up.
